        OutBack is a professional variety band who enjoy the people they entertain, as much as the music they perform.  From young to old, this band has music you will love   and their crowd participation and spur of the moment comedy always brings chuckles and laughter.  OutBack plays many of the favorites in rock and country and keeps current on popular songs. All four of OutBack’s members have been entertaining for over 35 years. Their experience and comfortable attitude with the crowd has gained them quite a following.   

 

        Laurie Larsen- Bloomfield, rhythm and vocals was a member of the former Patches All Girl Band  and was inducted into the Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame in Hastings, Nebraska in 2012 and inducted into the South Dakota Country Music Legends  in 2011. Eric Tippery from Fremont began his musical career like many, singing in church choir, school choir and musicals and is a self-taught Guitar player! He also plays the fiddle, piano, banjo, and steel guitar and has a portfolio of songs that he has written.Nick Leland from Norfolk is a popular singer, guitar and bass player from the Norfolk, Nebraska area.   Randee Falter started his career out of high school in California pursuing a musical career and has performed with many groups over the years.  He is from Pierce, Nebraska.

     Laurie has  been  playing  in  front  of  crowds  since she was 13 and has  opened  for  greats  such  as  The  Nitty  Gritty  Dirt Band, Eddie Rabbit, Janie Fricke, Ricky Skaggs and many others.

From Pierce, Nebraska.  Randee Falter has been playing drums in bands since high school and college, traveling on the road for nearly 10 years all over the west, mid-west, and west coast after college. 

   Tim  is  Retired from the OutBack Variety Band.

From Memphis, Tennessee and now lives in Beresford, South Dakota.  Joined the Outback Band in      October 2016

    Jan started 15 years ago. She had no previous experience with a bass guitar. For the first 6 months, she didn’t even know how to tune the bass!!

   Howard’s music career began with piano lessons in 1957 and continued for three years culminating in an inability to read music, much to the frustration of the teacher and to this very day Howard still cannot read music, but he sure can play it well.  “YOU’RE PLAYING BY EAR, AREN’T YOU?”

Ken Atwood is Retired from the OutBack Variety Band.

Ken Atwood

    Ken Atwood was born near Boston, MA in a town called Beverly in September of 1951. Moving to NH in August of 1968, he did his senior year of high school there. Two years later, he moved to Haverhill, MA, and in July, 1974, moved to South Dakota where he’s lived ever since.
