Statement by the “Barn Chicks”
Dancing for Tourism is a day of fun, competition, and dancing!! Come to the dance workshop; come to watch the young ones show off their expertise, and come to cheer on the dancers from around the area representing different events from North East NE. The Barn Chicks will be representing the Wayne Chicken Show. We are a group of women that have been friends for a long time and have danced together as a group of chicks for at least the last 6 years. When we (Tom and Connie Tentinger) fixed up our hayloft for our family and friends for a Halloween party one year we did dancing and eating and karaoke. So we thought we needed to get together once a week to learn dances and just have fun; hence, came the name “Barn Chicks”. Even though we have had some come and go, move away, we (the six of us) have always seemed to stick together! We do demos for our local Care Center and also with other dancing groups. When we decided to get involved with “Dancing for Tourism” we asked the Wayne Chicken Show Committee to sponsor us and we are very happy that they decided to. We will be competing for $400.00 for the Wayne Chicken Show to use so please come on out and cheer us on!
This event will be at The DeVent Center (West Hwy 275) Norfolk, Nebr on April 17, 2010 and the various volunteers listed below will be graciously donating their time and talents by representing their respective sponsors.
